Short film Push to Start examines the plethora of Unorthodox situations people may find themselves in with the rise of hybrid and electric cars. Two down to earth criminals spots a delicious opportunity to steal a new ride, just to find out this isnt like the cars they're used to.
Short films gives us less time to dive into a character's personality and background, requiring the costume design to be distinct enough to add to their personality, without overtaking attention from the main plot of the story. We wanted Todd and Elena to appear lighter than Jamie and Dwayne, to separate the victims from the thieves. We gave a Elena a more grounded appealing outfit to help the audience resonate with her over Todd, whos outfit featured a less pleasing color block. We dressed Jamie and Dwayne as more sketchy dudes over real thieves to reflect their challenged street smarts.
